Salina Cruz is a major seaport on the Pacific coast Oaxaca, specifically at the Gulf of Tehuantepec. The port was developed in the late 19th century due to its location at the southern terminus of the Tren Interoceánico, which carried freight across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Since it has been a main port of the main land, it has seen its fair share of improvements and renovations through the years.
Because of its importance, PRODAR developed a project of creating a marine terminal which functions as a crucial hub for maritime trade in the zone. What sets this terminal apart is the implementation of PShield. An E-navigation software that provides maritime domain awareness over any surface or underwater operation. It has an extensive range of functions but one of the main ones is to that it allows VTSOs, pilots, tugboat operators and other service providers to collaborate during the arrival process in real time on smart devices.
